Julie was born on December 21, 1955 in Bellingham, Washington, This was her home town until 2005 when she moved to Newhalem, Washington with her Husband. The North Cascades were inspiring her to paint Mountains and more Rural settings as well as the abundant wildlife. She is now off on another of lifes adventures in beautiful Eastern Washington, where she and her husband have moved. He will be enjoying his retirement, by assisting Julie with her Art and her Art shows, and she will continue to paint the things that she loves. A self taught artist, she remembers being artistic as young as 7 years old, she graduated High School and began a life married and raising 2 children as well as working part time. In 1996 with the kids grown and on their own she was able to devote most of her time to painting and showing her work at Art Shows. She is always striving to push herself in new directions and you will rarely see her without her sketch pad or camera, capturing the moment that sparks her interest. She is always complimented on the color intensities in her paintings, she spends many long hours layering the paint which gives them their intense and rich color. Julie enjoys many subject matters, the challenge of a new painting or technique is what keeps her creative and her spirit high. Being able to be creative and share what she does with others is a great gift and honor for her and only increases her enjoyment.
