Gicle'e, Art Reproduction
|
Gicle'e (pronounced “Zhee-Clay”) is a french word that means to spray or squirt liquid. Gicle'e art reproductions are produced from high resolution digital scanners and printed with archival quality inks (Epson Ultra Chrome K3 Inks) onto various mediums that include canvas, fine art papers, and photo based paper. The gicle'e printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction currently available.
Gicle'e reproductions are created using 8-12 color ink jet printers. The manufacturers include Epson, Canon, Mimaki, H-P. These printers are capable of producing incredibly vivid and detailed art reproductions.
Gicle'e printing uses a spinning roller which sprays infinitely small pixels of rich, vibrant, archival inks onto Gicle'e canvas at a very high rate of speed. It produces amazingly smooth and vibrant images true to the original painting. Gicle'e canvas art is widely praised for its exceptional quality by major artists, photographers, galleries and museums.
The museum quality of these reproductions is sure to give anyone the prestige and satisfaction of a serious art collector. The natural texture of the canvas gives the look and feel of an original oil painting. Prints on Gicle'e canvas are tougher and more durable than conventional prints. They last longer than anything on the market and under the correct conditions will last from 100-200 years.
